The translation you are using now is fine. Most americans still have no idea what an "apprenticeship" is.
When they talk to you about your apprenticeship, they think it's the same like their Trainee stuff. Some poeple even ask you why you wastet 3 years for an traineeship.
OK, stop trying for force German vocabulary into the English language. There is no such thing as "Hotelfachfrau/man"! Decide what field in the hotel you are shooting for and based on that you apply for the position. Since I don't know which area appeals best to you I cannot tell you and for some jobs in the hotel a variety of titles are being used in the English world. It also differs slightly from country to country....like US and UK.
